Learn 6 New Songs: Small Group Lessons
Many students come to me seeking to learn a few songs so they don't feel like they're "on the spot" when friends and family members ask them to play. In this SGL, we'll go through a variety of songs with different levels of difficulty so you have a growing repertoire of songs you feel confident in sharing! Plus, I'm going to give you so many resources that will really help you grasp everything about these songs!
Our primary focus will be breaking down the songs into bite-sized pieces and committing them to memory rather than just reading the music.
You do not have to know how to read music or Nakai TAB for this class.
In this SGL Program, you'll get the following items as resources:
- Piece of sheet music for each song with embellishments
- Dissected form with breath marks for physical phrasing
- MP3 of each of the finalized songs
- MP3 of the flute-only part of each song from the original song (when applicable)
- Up-close video of me playing each song
This program is best suited for an intermediate and advanced player, though beginners who are enthusiastic and ready to take on a challenge may enjoy this program as well.
This SGL Program starts on Sunday, January 10 at 10 a.m. Central Time and meets every-other-week via Zoom until March 7th.
Here's the schedule:
- Sunday, January 10 • 10-11:30 a.m.
- Sunday, January 24 • 10-11:30 a.m.
- Sunday, February 7 • 10-11:30 a.m.
- Sunday, February 21 • 10-11:30 a.m.
- Sunday, March 7 • 10-11:30 a.m.
Every session will be video recorded and shared with you so you can continue growing. If you are unable to make one of these meetings, you will receive the recording as well as any homework for that period.
There are only 8 seats available for this SGL program and we do anticipate them to sell out. The last session filled within a few days.
Your one-time fee of $250 covers all sessions and any materials that I provide you as resources so you can get the most out of this experience.
About Small Group Lessons (SGLs):
SGLs are specifically designed to help flute players achieve a pre-determined goal while working in a small cohort alongside like-minded individuals. This style of learning is one of the most affordable and direct ways to learn. Most of the programming offered in this way will be conducted through five, 75-90 minute Zoom sessions spread out over an 8-10 week period. The normal format will be every-other-week which gives you ample time to work on your homework and buddy-up with someone if you choose.
